For destination weddings, or even simply celebrations with many far-flung guests, any thoughtful couple wants to make sure that their guests are looked after. Many wedding venues have wedding night suites for the couple, but when the wedding party and other guests can stay on site at the wedding venue too, that’s ideal – which is why I’ve put together this list of some of the top UK wedding venues with accommodation on site.
Top 7 UK Wedding Venues With Accommodation On Site
When you’re looking for UK wedding venues with accommodation on site, you end up with two basic categories: hotels with excellent event spaces and wedding packages, and older estates that have been renovated as event hubs – like Hilles House, where I shot this delicious wedding -but still have some of their old bedrooms available for guests. This list covers both ends of the spectrum, but what all these UK wedding venues with accommodation have in common is a commitment to excellence and a real sense of historic charm.
#1 – Elmore Court, Cotswolds
This beautiful venue in Gloucestershire has been owned by the same family for over 700 years. Renovated as an event space for the present day, when you get married at Elmore Court you have exclusive use of the house and grounds.
For your ceremony, there is a 13thC chapel that would be totally lovely to get married in, or you can choose from different spaces in the house – the Hall is particularly special. For your reception, they have a specially-built celebration space called the Gillyflower, designed with modern amenities for you to put your stamp on. And if you’re looking for accommodation, there are 16 bedrooms in the main house that you can choose to add to your wedding day package if you desire!
#2 – Davenport House, Shropshire
Davenport House is a Georgian estate in the rolling fields of Shropshire, and it offers an exquisite elegance to couples looking to celebrate their wedding day in style, with beautiful historical rooms and lush gardens. It’s an event space, rather than a hotel, so when you book here you get the whole estate to yourself.
As far as UK wedding venues with accommodation go, Davenport House can sleep up to 32 – it has a bridal suite and three other ensuite rooms in the main house, as well as four cottages on the grounds that your guests can also avail themselves of.
#3 – The Ned, London
The Ned could not be deeper in the heart of London – this hotel and member’s club is right in the City, an esteemed establishment with a rich history of entertainment. Weddings at The Ned happen on their historic sixth floor – you have the option of hiring individual rooms for your celebration, or renting out the entire floor and turning the whole space into an interactive event. Out of all of the UK wedding venues with accommodation on site, these guest rooms are some of the most luxurious.
#4 – Hedsor House, Buckinghamshire
If it’s grandeur you’re looking for on your wedding day, Hedsor House is the perfect venue for you to explore. On a bigger scale than the UK wedding venues with accommodation we’ve seen so far, this glamorous Georgian estate has 100 acres of parkland, pristine formal gardens, and lavish historic interiors.
Two highlights are the dramatic wrought-iron mezzanine balconies overlooking the foyer and the beautiful falling garden – and your guests will love the 13 private rooms in the main house. This venue has been celebrated by the likes of Tatler and Vogue, and when you catch a glimpse of it, it’s not hard to see why.
#5 – Swinton Park Hotel, Yorkshire
This Yorkshire castle has been converted into the most luxurious hotel and spa, with over 200 acres of gardens and parkland. It is pitched for more intimate weddings, with a variety of beautiful historic rooms to choose from for your ceremony – from The Library’s rich gravitas to the Panelled Room’s lush light and stunning views.
One feature that makes Swinton Park Hotel stand out among these UK wedding venues with accommodation on site is the Deer House – a rustic structure set at a distance from the main house, perfect for a more private, indoor-outdoor celebration. There is ample space for a marquee on the grounds as well, if a bigger guest list is what you’re envisioning – and, of course, the hotel has space for you and your guests to stay the night in style.
#6 – Braxted Park, Witham
With ceremony sites that range from the glowing Orangery to the romantic garden gazebo to the traditional 11th century chapel, Braxted Park has so many ways to make your wedding day magical.
Their winding walled gardens are really something special, and if you get married in the spring, you might just catch a glimpse of the bluebell wood. As far as accommodation goes, there is a bridal suite in a garden cottage, while guests can stay over in the converted stable block and wake up on the most beautiful grounds.
#7 – The Langham Hotel, London
The Langham Hotel makes a point of being flexible enough to work with whatever vision a couple has – they offer pub-style reception drinks and farmhouse inspired weddings in their Conservatory – but they really shine as purveyors of chic luxury.
Out of all UK wedding venues with accommodation on site, The Langham really takes it to the next level – you and your guests can enjoy a full weekend of absolute pampering in the heart of London, with a world-class spa and five star restaurants in the building. As far as the wedding itself, you have access to a host of ballrooms and reception spaces, including the incredible courtyard, to transform into the vision you’ve dreamed of.
