There’s a few tribes of gorgeous and inspiring people who I have been the ‘pet photographer’ for over the years, being passed through as each of them move forward with life and say the words. Claire and Nick I have known for years now, getting to know them over time as guests at their friend’s weddings and so, when the time came and Claire got in touch I was doing little girly jumps that she was next up the aisle with Nick!
Their vision for a home spun garden wedding came true with incredible effect. The weather played ball and as usual the crowd made it what it was…a huge amount of fun with a colossal dose of heart.
Here are her words…
How did you meet?
Nick and I met through Nick’s cousin 9 years ago at the local pub!
How did the proposal go down?
We had an amazing dinner at Restaurant Story and then after supper we went back to our hotel room at the Shangri -La At The Shard where he popped the question overlooking London. It was very special I genuinely had no idea he was going to do what he did, Nick then surprised me again and we went to the Four Seasons in Hampshire for the night.
What was your vision for the wedding?
Early on we knew we wanted our wedding to be at my parents. Luckily they kindly agreed! Having a garden wedding allowed our plans to be flexible in the lead up and on the day.
I have a thing for trees so the garden setting allowed my vision to come to life naturally. Our key objective was to ensure our day ran as smoothly as possible, everything slotted into place, all the effort that was put in by our friends, family and the teams of people we used was overwhelming…even the weather gods were on our side!
How close to your vision was the wedding?
There were so many amazing moments! Key highlight has to be the speeches- they were incredible.
And surprise moments or feelings?
Again, I would have to say the speeches and the generosity of everyone….also the weather! We were so so lucky – it was perfect!
Advice for brides?
Be flexible – you plan for every moment however things happen so just roll with it! Try and take a moment just the two of you – everyone tells you the day will fly by and it truly does!
