Over the top! Ali & Dani are that chocolate box, story book couple. Head over heels for one another and deliciously photogenic! They met and fell in love at school in Italy, so it made sense for these two Americans to gather the herd and make it official where it all began.
In a former life, Dani worked at a bridal boutique, so no surprises here that each moving part fits expertly into the next. The tones, the details, the venue and the style, all creating a visual feast!
The gaggle of friends and family were treated to a week long fiesta. Allison & Dani created a weeks worth of adventures all over Italy which, in crescendo worked towards this epic day set on the peak of a vineyard hill in Chianti at the Castello Vicchio Maggio.
Sexy solo sax was the other show stealer here, which then joined in concert with a diamond of a DJ who had all feet lifted into the night…
I’ve been shooting for nearly 10 years and this goes down as one of my all time favourite weddings. The love, the beauty, the setting and the sounds…magic.
How we met: Dani and I had a group of mutual friends at FSU and we knew each other for three years before we began dating. We had both been seeing other people but finally found each other single at the same time. Unfortunately, Dani had just finished his masters and was moving to NYC, while I still had a year left of school. We managed to do long distance until I finished with school and then I moved to NYC to be with him!
Dani and I were traveling throughout Europe in May 2015 and decided to make Paris the last city we visited before heading back to The States. We had an amazing time touring the city and had planned to spend our last day in Paris visiting The Luxembourg Gardens, followed by a champagne brunch. On Saturday, May 23rd, 2015 we woke up bright and early and got ready for the day. (Dani had told me that brunch was a “dressy” affair in Paris, thus leaving no questions when Dani put on a sports coat!) After grabbing a cappuccino at The Luxembourg Cafe, we strolled through the gardens. We were taking pictures when Dani stopped, got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I completely blacked out and could not stop shaking but eventually found the words to say YES! Dani had a photographer capture the whole thing. I was beyond thrilled!
How we chose the venue: Dani’s best friends’ mother-in-law recommended Castello Vicchiomaggio. She is a luxury travel agent and has taken groups to the castle before.
Neutral/Natural, warm, fall colors, greens everywhere. I wanted the entire night to feel like an intimate Italian dinner with close family and friends!
I slept in until 9 and had breakfast with my wedding guests inside the castle’s dining room. It was a very laid back, easy morning! My bridesmaids and I began makeup around 11 and sipped on champagne while chatting and laughing. Unfortunately, my mom was very sick that day and was unable to participate in any of the wedding festivities. It was hard not sharing the day with her but I knew she would want me to enjoy myself and take in every moment! The best part of the entire day was the first look with Dani. It was so special having those few moments together before everything began!
Be sure you find a wedding planner that you have complete trust in. Interview his/her previous clients and make sure to convey EXACTLY what you want! A planner is so pivotal to the success of the evening. No bride should be stressing about the small, mundane details. Rather, they should be sipping champagne and enjoying every second of the day! My other words of advice would be to absolutely, hands down hire Divine Day Photography. They were easily one of the best parts of our wedding. They made everything so fun and special and acted not only as photographers/videographers but also as guides and friends. It felt like we had two additional close friends at the wedding and that was so special to me! Our guests are also madly in love with them!! Pictures and videos last forever and it’s so special to capture the entire day!
AWWW SHUCKS! THANKS ALI!
