“Happiness, not in another place but this place…not for another hour, but this hour.”
Ian & Yoko are friends. He was cruelly treated by the gang for being the “last man standing”. Ian didn’t want to compromise. He wanted the dream girl and held out for her. When I met Yoko I knew it meant I would be shooting a gorgeous Japanese bride one day if I played my cards right. When they granted me with the great honour of shooting their wedding in La Bisbal, Girona at Hotel Castell d’Emporda in Spain I did girlie jumps! What a perfect moment in time created in a green space between the olive trees. We bathed in the sun by the pool while the two of them, up in the ancient castle’s tower, suited up. The words they chose were from the heart, promises of sticking around through bad breath and wet tents at music festivals…looking forward to little pitter pattering feet and holding ageing hands miles and years ahead. A reception of men soothed us with drum & guitar and quick and friendly staff served silky spanish parma while we filled our eyes with the gold light pouring over the Catalan vista. Then we ate, drank and danced of course.
